Meridian Police Department

 

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – John David Oliver, 38, 3452 Yachtsman Drive, Toomsuba. Oliver is also charged with improper equipment, no liability insurance and driving with a suspended license.

• Malicious mischief/vandalism, felony – Marcus Charles Wooten, 27, 2301 Tenth Ave., Meridian.

• Shoplifting – Michael G. Davis, born in 1981, 11245 Townsend Byrd Road, Collinsville.

• Simple assault, threat – Poncy Davis, born in 1981, 2919 Mt. Barton, Meridian.

The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Tuesday to Wednesday:

Auto Burglaries

  • 2000 block of North Frontage Road, Meridian.

• 5300 block of Arundel Road, Meridian.

 

Residential Burglaries

• 1000 block of 15th Street, Meridian.

• 3800 block of Davis Street, Meridian.

Stolen Vehicle

• 3800 block of Hooper Street, Meridian.

Shootings

• 900 block of 46th Avenue, Meridian.

  Meridian police responded to 7 shots-fired calls. Officers were unable to find evidence to support the calls.

 

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

 

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• DUI, second offense – Darrell Lashoun Billups, 38, 506 Front St., Meridian. Billups is also charged with improper equipment and driving with a suspended license.

• Violation of MS compulsory school attendance law, two counts – Helen Marquita Boyd, 32, 107 71st Place, Meridian.

• DUI, first offense – Jaccobian Dashun Brown, 22, 200 23rd St., Meridian. Brown is also charged with improper equipment and possession of controlled substance.

• Violation of MS compulsory school attendance law – Sheilah Denise Chaney, 37, 850 East Fire Tower Road, Meridian. Chaney is also charged with two counts of contempt of court.

• Malfunctioning wastewater disposal system – Donna Kay Hill Cook, 9316 Kewanee Road, Lauderdale.

• Failure to pay child support – James Stephen Garrison, 39, 3620 Pamela Drive, Meridian.

• DUI, first offense – Susan M. Massey, 44, 3415 Highway 45 North, Meridian. Massey is also charged with careless driving.

• Failure to pay (justice court) – Jonathan Miley, 25, 3792 Tallaboque Road, Forest.

• Probation violation/parole – Johnny Jerome Patton, 35, 3524 35th Ave., Meridian.

• Violation of MS compulsory school attendance law, three counts – Iresha R Sims, 36, 107 71st Place, Meridian.
