Firing up the steam

A stream of visitors flowed into the Soule Live Steam Festival on Friday, the first day of a two-day event in the vicinity of the Soule Steam Feed Works, 1808 4th St. in Meridian. The Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum has sponsored the event for 14 years, last year drawing more than 2,000 people. The festival features steam engines operating using live steam. Festivities continue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 per person with a maximum of $25.
