Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

• Giving false ID information – Tapuantis Lavon Bell, 23, 2032 26th Ave., Meridian.

• Trespassing – Jimmy Lee Davis, 43, 4605 Valley St., Meridian. Davis is also charged with begging.

• Simple assault, domestic – Joanna Jean Dorn, 40, 4310 58th Place, Meridian.

• Felon in possession of a firearm – Venson Onell Gentry, 57, homeless.

• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – Jimmy Wayne Hood, 55, 2620 19th St., Meridian. Hood is also charged with speeding, expired tag, no liability insurance, failure to exhibit license on demand and contempt of court.

• Shoplifting – Reginald M. Jones, 35, 5820 Knoll Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio.

• DUI, first offense – Steven Maurice Wheeler, 42, 206 First Ave., Meridian. Wheeler is also charged with failure to dim headlights.

• Possession of stolen firearm – Rashaud Blankey, born in 1988, 1509 33rd Ave., Meridian.

• DUI, other substance – Grady Todd, born in 1977. Todd is also charged with careless driving, driving without a license and no liability insurance.

• Disorderly conduct – Christian Bennett, born in 1985, 1422 18th St., Meridian.

• Stalking – Taunisha Miller, born in 1976, 5120 D Ave., Meridian.

• Stalking – Ricky Miller, born in 1973, 5120 D Ave., Meridian.

• DUI, first offense – Charles Calvert, born in 1943, 6804 13th Place, Meridian. Calvert is also charged with careless driving.

• DUI, first – Michael French, born in 1967, 2427 24th Ave., Meridian. French is also charged with disregard of traffic device.

• DUI, second offense – Abimoel Hernandez, born in 1987, 1106 34th St., Meridian. Hernandez is also charged with careless driving and driving without a license.

• DUI, first offense – April Currie, born in 1992, 237 Harbor Ave., Meridian. Currie is also charged with driving with a suspended license and no liability insurance.

• DUI – Robin Willis, born in 1973, 4567 Butts Road, Meridian. Willis is also charged with speeding and no liability insurance.

• Disorderly conduct – Adrian Cole, born in 1998, 2616 39th Ave., Meridian.

• DUI, first offense – John Embrey, born in 1996, 3469 Chunky Duffee Road, Meridian. Embrey is also charged with no headlights and no liability insurance.

• DUI, first offense – James Tyler, born in 1980, 1602 53rd St., Meridian. Tyler is also charged with speeding.

• DUI, first offense – Krystine Sims, born in 1996, 2408 43rd Ave., Meridian. Sims is also charged with disregard of traffic device.

Commercial Burglaries

• 800 block of 18th Avenue South, Meridian.

• 7400 block of Highway 80 West, Meridian.

• 4500 block of Eighth Street, Meridian.

Residential Burglaries

• 4900 block of 30th Street, Meridian.

• 4300 block of Rubush Drive, Meridian.

• 2500 block of 23rd Street, Meridian.

• 3500 block of 31st Street, Meridian.

Robbery

• 1400 block of 30th Avenue, Meridian.

Stolen Vehicles

• 800 block of Highway 19 North, Meridian.

• 5500 block of North Frontage Road, Meridian.

• 1700 block of New Way, Meridian.

Shootings

• 400 block of Highway 11/80, Meridian.

• 100 block of 71st Place, Meridian.

Meridian Police responded to 16 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was no evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

• Probation violation/parole – Johnny James Dunnigan Jr., 52, 1403 Fifth St., Meridian.

• Probation violation/parole – Ricky Demon Hersey, 34, 2532 Old Marion Road, Meridian.

• Burglary of dwelling, house – Thomas Jacob Joiner, 31, 468 Jeffery Acres Road, Meridian. Joiner is also charged with malicious mischief/vandalism, petit larceny and failure to appear (justice court).

• DUI, second offense – Timothy James Lockley, 33, 53 Amos Lane, Stonewall. Lockley is also charged with burglary of commercial building and possession of methamphetamine.

• Aggravated assault with weapon – Marcus Tremaine Powell, 31, 272743rd Ave., Meridian. Powell is also charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, conspiracy to commit a felony, failure to pay (justice court) and contempt of court.

• Possession of methamphetamine – Marcell Simmons, 39, 2001 Fifth St., Meridian.

• DUI, first offense – Frederick Lamont Williams, 38, 1718 18th St., Meridian.

• Probation violation/parole – James Anthony Williams, 25, 207 County Road 199, Greenwood.
