Supports museum, not at Bonita Lakes
Thanks to Duffee Williams for taking the time to write a letter expressing his belief, (and mine, too, though I had not taken the time to do anything but grumble) that it would be a big mistake to give up part of Bonita Lakes Park to build a children’s museum. I am all for the children’s museum but not at that location. If the city starts giving up a few acres now, when will it stop? Bonita Lakes is not replaceable. When it’s gone, it’s gone. As I understand it, the group leading the effort to build the museum has not even considered any other location. It is hard to believe that our city leaders are willing to do this. Please reconsider!

Trump now deserves support
About a month a ago, I wrote a brief letter to The Meridian Star voicing my support for Hillary Clinton. Now with the election over, Mr. Trump is to become the 45th president of the United States.

I am, along with millions of Clinton supporters were disappointed in the election results, but the people have spoken. Mr. Trump is our next president and I believe that as concerned citizens in our great nation we need to afford President-elect Trump our respect and wish him well as he transitions into governing our country.
As President Obama stated earlier this week, “If President Trump succeeds, then the country succeeds.”
