Moore, of Meridian, drove a yellow 2015 Chevy Camaro convertible with Little, of Enterprise, as a passenger. Bonnie Roberson, 41, drove a red 2014 Toyota sedan.

West said Roberson, who wore her seatbelt, was in critical condition around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday. At the scene, emergency responders had to free Roberson from her vehicle and listed her as incapacitated on the accident report.

Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler confirmed the deaths of Moore and Little, adding that Roberson had been taken to Anderson Regional Medical Center.

West said the Camaro travelled north of the Toyota travelled south, adding that it appeared the driver of the Camaro lost control and crossed into the southbound lane.

Neither of the Camaro’s occupants wore seat belts and the accident ejected Moore from the vehicle, West said.

The accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. during a period of heavy rain. The Toyota had damage to the front, with the rear passenger door in a nearby ditch. The convertible had damage to the passenger side. Debris from the wreck covered more than 100 feet.

Traffic stalled for nearly two hours in both directions on Highway 11 as deputies, troopers, firefighters, EMTs and wreckers responded.

Meridian Fire Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol were among responders.
