Mr. and Mrs. Marl Clayton Cobler III of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stephens of Collinsville announce the engagement of their children, Kelly Wren and Blake Cameron Stewart.
The wedding will be Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Meridian, with a reception to follow at the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum at Soule’ Steam Feed Works.
Miss Cobler is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marl C. Cobler and Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Cotten, all of Meridian.
The bride-elect graduated from West Lauderdale High School in 2012, and graduated in 2014 from Meridian Community College with highest honors. She graduated with high honors in 2016 from Mississippi State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society, Beta Alpha Psi international honor organization and Delta, Delta, Delta sorority.
Miss Cobler currently resides in Starkville, and is employed in the Athletic Department at Mississippi State University as an accounting assistant to the MSU Men’s Basketball Team.
Mr. Stewart is the grandson of Mr. Jerry Stewart and the late Mrs. Jerry Stewart of Meridian.
The bridegroom-elect graduated from West Lauderdale High School in 2012 with highest honors. Mr. Stewart graduated from Meridian Community College in 2014 with honors. In 2017, he graduated with high honors from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
While attending MSU, Mr. Stewart was a member of Theta Tau professional engineering fraternity. He served internships at Borge Warner, Water Valley, and at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Pascagoula.
Mr. Stewart resides in Starkville, where he is pursuing a doctorate degree in mechanical engineering at Mississippi State University.
Mr. Stewart is currently employed as a graduate research assistant for Advanced Vehicular Systems at Mississippi State University.
