Armed robbery reported at Family Dollar in Meridian

A man entered a Family Dollar, pointed a gun a clerk and demanded money Tuesday night, according to the Meridian Police Department. 

The man entered the Family Dollar store, at 2107 24th Avenue, at 7:59 p.m and asked the clerk for money, according to Meridian Police Sgt. Dareall Thompson.

“He wasn’t able to get any cash because the clerk ran to the back of the store,” Thompson said. 

Thompson said the man left on foot and police will review video footage to identify the man.
