Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday:

• Shoplifting $500 or more – Tera Jewan Spencer-Charleston, 32, 8043 King Road, Meridian. Spencer-Charleston is also charged with disorderly conduct/failure to obey law enforcement officer, false ID information, contempt of court, escape-misdemeanor, Petit larceny-up to $1,000.

• Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute – Jerry D’Juan Williams, 19, 109 29th Ave., Meridian. Williams is also charged with accessory after the fact.

• Burglary – Daniel Reed, born in 1998, 5006 West Gate Hills Dr. Reed is also charged with aggravated assault.

• Fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer – Gary Barber, born in 1982, 7911 Lauderdale/Toomsuba Road.

• Aggravated assault – Earlrayon Maye, born in 2000, 2313 28th Ave.

• Controlled substance violations – Eric Sims, born in 1994, 510 53rd Ave.

• Aggravated assault – Kendarius Miles, born in 2002, 3032 13th St.

• Driving under the influence – Kenneth Gardner, born in 1991, 4148 Bailey Acres. Gardner is also charged with no insurance, no driver’s license, careless driving.

• Possession of marijuana – Decarlos Tims, born in 1994, 1733 46th Ave.

• Shoplifting – Jeffery McKennis, born in 1967, 73 CR. 2671.

• Petit larceny – Tyler Penry, born in 1994, 4017 Torney Pines Drive.

• Simple assault – Jermaine Ramsey, born in 1997, 557 Sweetgum Bottom Road.

• DUI – Joseph Simpson, born in 1953, 464 Jeff Coal. Simpson is also charged with possession of marijuana, careless driving, suspended driver’s license.

• Public profanity – Jerrod Hopson, born in 1990, 2305 D St.

• Profane language – Kuddafi Gray, born in 1991, 801 25th Ave.

• Shoplifting – Misty Strictland, born in 1968, 1036 Homestead Road.

• Shoplifting – Jerry Griffin, born in 1957, 613 42nd Ave.

• Malicious mischief – Kendrick Starks, born in 1985, 1021 38th Ave.

• Willful trespassing – Takeisha Manuel, born in 1992, 1318 19th St. Manuel is also charged with simple assault.

• Disorderly conduct – Gary Barber, born in 1982, 7911 Lauderdale/Toomsuba Road. Barber is also charged with resisting arrest, DUI, disregard to traffic device, reckless driving, no driver’s license, failure to yield.

• Possession of marijuana – Gary Barber, born in 1982, 7911 Lauderdale/Toomsuba Road. Barber is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

• DUI/third offense – Anthony Evans, born in 1978, 1408 46th Ave. Evans is also charged with resisting arrest, false info, obstructing traffic, suspended driver’s license, no insurance, disorderly conduct.

• Public drunk – Larry Scott, born in 1984, 8225 King Rd. Scott is also charged with public profanity, simple assault threat.

• DUI/second offense – Marquisha Clay, born in 1995, 103 Cajun Lane. Clay is also charged with no insurance, improper lane change, disregard traffic device.

• DUI – Jasmine Chambers, born in 1992, 3005 7th St. Chambers is also charged with expired tag, noise ordinance.

• Public drunk – Adrian Anderson, born in 1987, 7565 Poplar Springs Drive.

• Domestic violence – Jeremy Campbell, born in 1986, 3726 19th Ct.

• Shoplifting – Elizabeth Muzzy, born in 1986, 2302 Lynnhaven Drive.

• Possession of paraphernalia – Brandon Chaney, born in 1985, homeless.

• Disturbance of a family – Jerry Brooks, born in 1976, 2009 56th Ave. Brooks is also charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest.

• Disorderly conduct – Latoria Hailes, born in 1990, 2006 MLK Drive.

• DUI refusal – Jerry Cole, born in 1952, 2651 Saint John St. Cole is also charged with no insurance, no driver’s license, disregard for traffic device.

• Disorderly conduct – Maria Gomez, born in 1987, 19038 Joshua St.

• Shoplifting – Erik Carney, born in 1999, 220 E. Church St.

• Shoplifting – Montiuus Norton, born in 1999, 1801 24th St.

• DUI/second offense – Brandon Smith, born in 1980, 522 55th Ave. Smith is also charged with leaving scene of an accident.

• Shoplifting – John Gist, born in 1988, 5746 B.

• Possession of meth with intent – William Smith, born in 1966, 740 65th Ave.

• 12 incidents at 2700 block of Willow Bend Drive at 1:21 a.m.

Residential burglary

• 500 block of 26th Ave. at 3:41 a.m.

• 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at 6:14 p.m.

• 200 block of 23rd Ave. at 8:45 p.m.

• 200 block of 3rd Ave. at 10:36 p.m.

Shootings

• 2900 block of Highway 39 North at 10:09 a.m.

• 2200 block of 23rd Ave. at at 11:19 a.m.

• 100 block of 29th Ave. at 8:41 p.m.

Meridian Police responded to 18 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Wednesday and 8:43 a.m. Thursday.

• Ms. Compulsory School Attendance Law – Lacey Chrell Bates, 39, 818 Wilder Dr., Meridian.

• Possession of marijuana/first offense – Terrence D Cross, 30, 180 Cross Roads, Scooba.

• Possession of marijuana/first offense – Adam Delk, 51, 200 23rd 146, Marion. Delk is also charged with possession of paraphernalia.

• Possession of controlled substance – Kevin Andre Gardner, 40, 1199 Cedar St., Gibsland, La.

• Improper equipment – Ashley Goff, 25, 301 Miley St., Newton. Goff is also charged with no driver’s license.

• Driving under the influence of other substance – Cordarius Rashad Powell, 24, 5020 Fox Rd., Meridian. Powell is also charged with improper equipment.

• DUI/of other substance – Shayla Smith, 19, 2704 Valley Rd., Meridian. Smith is also charged with possession of marijuana/first offense, no liability insurance, no driver’s license, no license tag.

• Possession of methamphetamine with intent – William Smith, 50, 740 65th Ave., Meridian.
