Organizers are gearing up for the third annual Bud & Burgers competition, which is set for Oct. 5 at Singing Brakeman Park in downtown Meridian. All proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Mitchell Distributing, will benefit L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen. 

Cash prizes will be handed out to the first, second, and third place winners, and there will also be other prizes for the coveted People’s Choice award and the Best of Show tent décor. 

Registration, which ends Sept. 28, is $50, and the first 20 teams to register will get a $50 gift card to Cash Saver.
