The festive Canadian Pacific Kansas City Holiday Express’ stop in Meridian is greatly anticipated each year by children and families. The train, which features the smiling tank car “Rudy, includes intricate displays inside and out.

Eight volunteers ages 18 and up are needed to help establish lines for the train and the Santa tent that will be set up alongside it.

“Volunteers should show up by 3:30 p.m., if possible,” CPKC Senior Manager/Community Affairs Andy Cummings said. “We will outfit them with elf smocks so they’re easily recognizable as event helpers.”

Volunteers do not need to pre-register.

“They can just show up, and we’ll put them to work,” Cummings said.

For more information about volunteering, contact City of Meridian Community Development Director Craig Hitt at 601-485-1908 or 601-604-5610.
