Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian has created a small park dedicated to veterans where groups may gather to reflect on their service to our country. The park includes a flagpole, four benches and a monument dedicating it to veterans.

Stephens is a member of the “We Honor Veterans” program in which certain criteria has to be completed to remain and become a member. Staff members have attended training classes to insure the funeral home provides families with every veteran’s death benefit that is available to them. Over the past month, Stephens has been able to indicate a veterans funeral service pending by lowering its flag to half mass

“We believe their service for us protects the very freedoms that we enjoy and sometimes take for granted,” said Funeral Director Tommy Miller. “Stephens’ service to veteran’s families are an honor that we do not take for granted consider it one of the most wonderful honors we can provide.”
