A 3-month-old infant is recovering from injuries after being ejected in a motor vehicle accident Saturday.

Late Saturday night a southbound vehicle on Highway 19, just south of Collinsville, went off road, overturned and crossed into the northbound lane, according to Sgt. Andy West with the Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop H. 

West said the accident ejected the unrestrained infant onto the asphalt. Two other juveniles were injured in the accident.

The infant was taken to a local hospital before it was flown to Jackson for treatment, according to West. 

West said the hospital wouldn’t release details about the infant’s injuries over the phone, but told him the infant was still recovering.
