The camp will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Philadelphia’s Northside Park, but registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.

“All together, there have been about four camps we’ve had there, but it’s just something for the kids and it’s a way for them to interact with NFL guys, as well as something they can take back to their schools to better themselves for the season,” Spurlock said. “It’s a very inexpensive camp, but there will be a lot of learning (experiences) and things they can take away.”

Spurlock currently serves as a special teams quality control and defensive assistant at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He’s also an eight-year NFL veteran. He said he expects his camp to become even bigger in future years.

“This year it will be just me because I got started a little later,” he said. “But for the upcoming years, now that I’m officially retired and more settled, I have a lot of guys I will be bringing back — big-name guys. At least once a year they can interact with and see them on a more personal level.”

Saturday’s camp will follow a combine-like format, Spurlock said.

“They’ll have the 40, and it pretty much will almost be like a combine. We’re going to be going through position drills, and then at the end, we’re looking to have 7-on-7 to finalize the camp,” he said.
