Beatrice Jacobs Williamson

Services for Beatrice Jacobs Williamson will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sephus Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Williamson, 87, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Meridian. She was born on April 1, 1919 in the Crandall Community of Clarke County. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Independent Methodist Church. She worked in Mobile, Ala. in the ship yards in World War II. She attended Bowling Green Kentucky Business College. She worked for more than 17 years in real estate sales in Huntsville, Ala. She and her husband spent many wonderful years traveling with the Queen City Good Sam R.V. Club.
Survivors include her son, James R. Williamson and his wife, Katherine, of Lilburn, Ga.; grandsons, James R. Williamson Jr. and his wife, Reilly, of Birmingham, Ala. and Byron Colley Williamson of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Wesley Williamson and Libby Williamson, both of Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jodie Neal Jacobs and Katie Carmichael Jacobs; brothers, Robert Jacobs, Jodie Jacobs, Raymond Jacobs and James Jacobs and her husband of more than 54 years, Wilbern Williamson.
Memorials may be made to Christian Fellowship Independent Methodist Church, 2414 State Boulevard, Meridian MS 39305 or to the American Heart Association.
Pallbearers will be Jodie Jacobs, Jay Jacobs, Tucker Jacobs and Kevin Peterson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold Carpenter and Champ Gibson.
Charles S. Field Jr.
MACON — Services for Charles S. Field Jr. will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Calyx Cemetery.
Mr. Field, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
William Elmo Newell

Graveside services for William Elmo Newell will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Massey officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Newell, 92, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Heartfelt Hospice. He was the retired owner of Texaco Service Station. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife of more than 60 years, Luna Gray Newell, of Meridian; sons, Roderick Gray Newell of Long Beach and Wayne Elmo Newell of Meridian; a daughter, Karen Joy Whitlock of Meridian; grandchildren, Tamara Brock and her husband, Ryan, of Meridian, Sarah Elizabeth Newell of Louisiana, and William Brock Newell of Long Beach; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Brock and Kaylen Brock, both of Meridian; a sister, Patsy Walker and a brother, Malcolm Newell and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Bobbie Jean White
Services for Bobbie Jean White will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. White, 65, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of North Park Church.
Survivors include her mother, Telka Chandler of Meridian; a sister, Janell Ulmer and her husband, Robert Dewitt, of Meridian; a son, Rodney White and his wife, Cindy, of Meridian; a daughter, Jackie Sharp and her husband, Joseph, of Diamond Head; grandchildren, Brandy Hall, Justin Hall, Adam White, Matthew White and Lauren Touchton; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Chandler and her husband, Jack W. White.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

ORLANDO — Memorial services for Jonathan Bryan Arrington will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Dobbs Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Arrington, 23, of Orlando, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, in Orlando.
Survivors include his mother, Krystal Bearden; father, Robert Arrington; one brother; maternal grandmother, Katie Grice, of Meridian, Miss., and paternal grandmother, Polly Adams of Yazoo City, Miss., and his fiancé, Jessica Starbuck, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Combs, 82, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Military and served in World War II. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his children, Howard Combs Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, Kane Combs and his wife, Susan, Joey Combs and his wife, Susan and Brenda Lynn Pitts and her husband, W.L., all of Meridian and Mary Etta Jones and her husband, Wayne Sr., of Little Rock; grandchildren, Sandy Rutherford, Candy Upchurch, Brandy Combs, Jason Combs, Karen Dennis, John Howard Stokes, Desiree Mullenix, Leslie Combs, Jamie Sanders, Wayne Jones Jr. and Lois Davidson.; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Luver Dee Munn and a brother-in-law, Berlin Munn, of Meridian; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 58 years, Rubena Combs and his parents, Commie and Estelle Combs and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Jones Jr., Jason Combs, Ronnie Phillips, Mike Munn, Mike Davidson and John Stokes.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

MACON — Graveside services for Louise Amweg will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brooksville Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Avery officiating. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Amweg, 83, of Macon died, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served World War II.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Peebles, 16, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Philadelphia.
Survivors include his mother, Phenoris Jones; his father, Kendrick Norris; three sisters; two brothers; his grandparents and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
