NAS Meridian is asking permission from neighbors to test drinking water wells near the base. The base has yet to test the wells so no contaminants have been found. A report on page A1 Tuesday incorrectly stated contaminants had been discovered. A public meeting is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Hamasa Shriners Building 5516 Dale Drive Marion.
