Mr. and Mrs. William Ronald “Ronnie” Harris of Decatur announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Leigh to Hayden Corey Amis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Wayne Amis of Decatur.

The wedding will be held Saturday, June 24, 2006, at 7 p.m. at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur.

Miss Harris is the granddaughter of Hansel Reeves of Decatur and the late Virginia Wall Reeves and Dorothy Harris of Decatur and the late W.C. Harris.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Newton County High School and East Central Community College. She received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Mississippi State University.

While attending MSU, she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, Phi Theta Kappa and was a dean’s list scholar.

Miss Harris is employed by Rankin County School System as a teacher at Brandon High School.

Mr. Amis is the grandson of Albert Amis of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brock of Brandon and Ola Mae Amis and the late Reese Amis of Decatur.

The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Newton County High School, East Central Community College and received a degree in computer engineering from Mississippi State University.

While attending MSU, he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and was a dean’s list scholar.

Mr. Amis is employed as a design specialist at BellSouth.

A reception will be held at East Central Community College Mall following the ceremony.
