Della Flowers



NEWTON — Services for Della Flowers will be held today at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Newton, with the Rev. Steve Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Clark’s Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Flowers, 58, of Hickory, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006.



Frank Ollie Killens



PHILADELPHIA — Services for Frank Ollie Killens will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel. Burial will be in High Hill Cemetery with John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Killens, 79, of Philadelphia died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Carthage. He was employed with Weyerhaeuser for over 23 years.

Survivors include his wife, Janette Killens, children, Annette Dawson, Wilma Jean Anderson and her husband, Robert, Junior Killens and his wife, Darlene, Wayne Killens and his wife, Patty; sister, Lillian Huff; brother, William Lee Killens; one grandchild; and 18 great-grandchildren.



Lottie Armstrong Allen



TOOMSUBA- Graveside services for Lottie Armstrong Allen will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Toomsuba Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Allen, 89, of Toomsuba, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 at Aldersgate Personal Care. She was a former deputy sheriff and the director of Meridian Servicemen Center. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Meridian.

Survivors include her children, Dr. June Pegues and her husband, Jim, of Hattiesburg, Margaret Jane Allen of Toomsuba, Millard Allen Jr. and his wife, Terry, of Toomsuba; grandchildren, DeAnna Morgan Phariss, Jayna Morgan Robinson, Susan Pegues, J. Allen Pegues, Dr. Grant R. Allen and Margaret Joie Allen Brown; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard R. Allen Sr. and her daughter, Mildred A. Morgan.

The family requests memorials be made to Hope Village for Children.



Juliet Bertelle Sharp



PHILADELPHIA – Graveside services for Juliet Bertelle Sharp will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, with McClain-Hays Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sharp, 85, of Pegram, Tennessee, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County but had lived in Pegram for the past ten years. She was a full-time homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Arlene Graves of Raleigh, NC, Tammie Howell and her husband, Beal, Kay Moore and her husband, Jeff, all of Pegram, Bill Sharp and his wife, Mary Ellen, Dwayne Sharp and his wife, Julie, all of Meridian, Donald Sharp and his wife ,Sherrie, of Gallatin, Tenn; grandchildren, Lynn Ealey, Katelyn Sharp, Lauren Moore, Benjamin Howell, Alan Graves, Allison Palmer, Adam Sharp, Andrew Moore; and great-grandchildren, Posey Palmer and Gabriella Graves.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Franklin “Bill” Sharp and her granddaughter, Tricia Sharp.



Thomas Lamar Howle



Services for Thomas Lamar “ Preacher” Howle will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Neshoba Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Collins and David Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Howle, 87, of Union, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home in Union. He was a retired farmer.

Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.







Bobby Jo McFarland Gower



BAY SPRINGS — Services for Bobby Jo McFarland Gower will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bay Springs Presbyterian Church. Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gower, 54, died Friday, December 8, 2006 at Alliance Hospital in Meridian. She was the former CEO of HealthOne in Jackson.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Gower of Meridian; parents, Judge and Mrs. Robert H. McFarland of Bay Springs; sister, Anna Hart Hazard of West Point; brother Burns McFarland and his wife Robin of Jackson; nieces and nephews include, Anna Ryan McFarland, Hart Hazard Kiser, Robert Burns McFarland, Mark Gordon Hazard IV and Harrison Robert Brooks McFarland.

The family requests memorials to be made to Bay Springs Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.



Esther Mae Milstead



QUITMAN- Graveside services for Esther Mae Milstead will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. Wright’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Milstead, 70, of Quitman, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 at H.C. Watkins Hospital.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.



Naomi Brown Seymour



SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — Graveside services for Naomi Brown Seymour will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowen, Ga. Scottsboro Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Seymour, 67, of Scottsboro, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Morris Seymour Sr.; four sons, Dr. Morris Seymour Jr., Donnie K. Seymour, Ray Seymour, and Chris Seymour; two sisters, Hailette Mulkey and Carolyn Anderson; a brother, Charlie Brown; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hailey and Grace Brown.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga.



Pervis Coy Thweatt





NEWTON- Services for Pervis Coy Thweatt will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Newton with the Revs. David F. Rives and Billy Ray Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Springs Cemetery with Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thweatt, 70, of Newton, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 at Newton Regional Hospital in Newton. Mr. Thweatt was born on January 27, 1936 in Leake County and spent his childhood growing up in Kosciusko. He moved to Newton in 1961, where he lived the rest of his life. Mr. Thweatt was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Newton where he served as a Deacon and Training Union Director for many years. He loved the Lord and had no greater joy than to share that love with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1958. He worked at La-Z-Boy in Newton for 18 years before opening his own business as a small engine and appliance repairman. He was the owner of Thweatt’s Fireworks where he enjoyed selling fireworks for Christmas, New Years and the Fourth of July for the past 25 years. He also owned Thweatt’s Bait Shop.

Survivors include his wife, Evalina Mangrum Thweatt, of Newton; children, Pam Loper and her husband, Wayne, of Newton, Kevin Thweatt and fiance, Daphne Maule, of Chunky; brother, Herbert Thweatt of Kosciusko; sister, Nina Barrett of Kosciusko; and grandchildren, Joshua Thweatt, Britany Loper, Danny Loper, Timothy Goodwin, Micheal Vaughn and Heather Vaughn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Gowan Thweatt and Mae Thweatt of Kosciusko and son, Ronnie Thweatt of Newton.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Don Marascalco, Michael Watkins, Timothy Goodwin, Randy Thweatt, Bobby Joe Thweatt, Yank Hammond, J. Paul Everett and Glen Sprinkle. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Montgomery, Ardell Pinson, Frank Baucum, Harry Middlebrook Jr., Bobby Dearing and Danny Loper.

Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
