Carl Gregory McKenzie

Services for Carl Gregory McKenzie will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Quitman with the Rev. Dennis Mack Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKenzie, 46,of Quitman, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was a self-employed masonry contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Janette McKenzie, of Quitman; a daughter, Octavia Smith of Hattiesburg; step-sons, Delondre Smith,of Quitman and Laregus Smith, of Cosa Mesa, Calif.; his mother, Annis Collins of Quitman; his father, Julius Moss of Gary, Ind.; brothers, Jeffrey McKenzie of Clinton and Troy McKenzie, of Quitman; a grandson, DeAndre Smith of Marietta, Ga.; five step-brothers; two step-sisters; three nephews and two nieces.

Visitation will be Monday from 11:45 a.m. -1 p.m. at the church.



Rufus Beason

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Rufus Beason will be held today at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Lavon Boatner, Mack Alford and Jerry Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Henry’s Chapel Cemetery in Neshoba County.

Mr. Beason, 86, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Neshoba County and most of his life there except for 18 years that he lived in Mobile, Ala. He was a member of Beacon Street Baptist Church in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Beason of Philadelphia; sons, Rufus L. Beason and his wife, Dorothy, of Columbus, Lonnie Beason and his wife, Jerry, and Steve Beason and his wife, Cathy, all of Philadelphia; a daughter, Wanda Addy and her husband, Ray, of Decatur; grandchildren, Cherie Phillips of Texarkana, Texas, Jenna Beason and Shelby Beason, both of Philadelphia, Kevin Beason of Madison, Becky Frink, Jody Addy and Pam Joyner, all of Decatur and Jason Fondren of Columbus; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Susie Mae Alford of Philadelphia.

He was preceded in death by his four sisters and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Savage, Jason Fondren, Jody Addy, Shelby Beason, Kevin Beason, Brian Frink and Stephen Joyner.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Debra Lynn Hardy Johnston will be held today at 3 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Curt Pace and Dennis Duvall officiating. Burial will be in Coldwater Cemetery in Neshoba County.

Mrs. Johnston, 49, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, in Tippah County.



Wanda Nell McWilliams



Services for Wanda Nell McWilliams will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Odell Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Savoy.

Mrs. McWilliams, 54, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Survivors include her mother, Gladys McWilliams; a daughter, Elizabeth Michele McKenzie and her husband, Billy, of Jackson; sisters, Dorothy Jean Cole and her husband, John, of Riverside, Calif. and Mary Ann Wade of Birmingham, Ala.; brothers, Leon Price of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Michale McWilliams and his wife, Joyce, of Denver; grandchildren, Asija and Adrian, of Jackson; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.



Edward Lee McGlawn

Services for Edward Lee “Eddie” McGlawn will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. McGlawn, 44, of Moss Point, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, in Noxubee County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his mother, Vera Johnson McGlawn of Moss Point; brothers, Charles McGlawn Sr. and his wife, Charlotte, of Meridian, the Rev. Archie Ray McGlawn of Olive Branch and Titus Earl McGlawn and his wife, Christine, of Moss Point; nephews and nieces, Davy McGlawn, Carlie Manning, Chandra Fore, Travis Earl McGlawn and Jefferey Russ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Davis McGlawn; a brother, Joseph Lynn McGlawn and a sister-in-law, Linda McGlawn.

Pallbearers will be Dick O’Neall, Cleve Wright, Travis Earl McGlawn and Bobby Davis.

Visitation will be Sunday, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
