Willie Clark
Services for Willie Clark will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at New Life Independent Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Clayton officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Blackwater Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Clark, 77, of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, in his home.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Orville Berton Tingle

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Orville Berton Tingle will be held today at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Tingle, 79, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, in his home. He was born and raised in Neshoba County. He was the Neshoba County Farm Bureau Insurance Agency manager from 1958 until his retirement in 1997. After retirement, he served on the Neshoba County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He also was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of the Neshoba County Farm Bureau. He was a past member of the Philadelphia Toastmasters and a past president of the Philadelphia Lions Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ann Dansby Tingle; a son, Bert Tingle and his wife, Judy Leigh; daughters, Sue Tingle and Sharon Tingle McKay and her husband, Don, all of Philadelphia; grandchildren, John Tingle and his wife, Emily, Dan Tingle, William Tingle, Richard McKay, Samuel McKay and Mollie Clair McKay; a brother, Melvin Tingle of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Tingle Sr.; brothers, Fletcher W. Tingle Jr., Charles W. Tingle and R.C. Tingle.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Future by Faith, 414 Pecan Ave., Philadelphia, MS 39350.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mellie Palmer

Services for Mellie Palmer will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robb Gill officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer, 75, of Meridian, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, in her home. She was retired from McRae’s Shoe Department.
Survivors include her sons, Dr. Todd Palmer and his wife, Kim, of Alegany, N.Y. and Jeff Palmer and his wife, Karen, of Meridian; grandchildren, Jake Palmer, Dylan Palmer, Ian Palmer, Deanna Junkins and her husband, Josh, and Polly Crocker; great-grandchildren, Seth Crocker, Merrick Crocker, Hunter Junkins and Makensie Junkins; siblings, George Rayner and his wife, Dorothy, and Tommy L. Rayner, all of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Ann Palmer; parents, W.A. “Bill and Gordie Baker Rayner; a brother, Bill Rayner and his wife, Bea.
Pallbearers will be Jake Palmer, Josh Junkins, Shannon Crocker, Michael Rayner, Rod Brown and Jeff Mixon.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alfred Denton

Graveside services for Alfred “Pokey” Denton will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Denton, 77, of Meridian, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday school class. He was a retired veteran of the Mississippi Air National Guard and also retired from Denton Hydraulic Service. He was a Gideon.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Fairchild Denton; sons, Dan Denton and his wife, Rita, David Denton and his wife, Jeffry and Joe Denton; grandchildren, Scotty Denton and his wife, Chere, Toby Denton and his wife, Kristi, Clint Denton, Kimberly Denton, Jessalyn Denton; great-grandchildren, Kelly Denton and Maggie Scott Denton; special “sisters”, Jessalyn Fears and her husband, Ed, Barbara Hamilton, Dannette Walley and her husband Robert; nieces, Karen Fears and Robyn Hancock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Alfred Denton.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Rusty Fears, Tony Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, Shayne Mayatt, Mark Brentnall, Jacob Hamilton, Jeff Wedgeworth and Darrell Wedgeworth.

Dorothy W. Risher
Services for Dorothy W. Risher will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Risher, 81, of Meridian, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, in her home. She was a member of Druid Hills United Methodist Church. She was born in Gloucester, Mass., and until this past year made summer visits to the place she still called home.
Survivors include her son, Ben F. Risher Jr., of Meridian and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Risher and her husband, Ben F. Risher Sr.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Adams, 80, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2006, in Dallas.

Rufus Wooten

Mr. Wooten, 94, of Bailey, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Wooten; sons, Shedrich Wooten and Rufus Wooten Jr.; 13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

MACON — Services for Katherine Daniel Knight were held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Showers officiating.
Mrs. Knight, 96, of Shuqualak, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
Survivors include her son, Dan Knight; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sister.
Hazel Meridith Wright Harrell

QUITMAN — Services for Hazel Meridith Wright Harrell were held Monday at 10 a.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Clarke County. Burial was in the church cemetery. Wright’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harrell, 88, of Quitman, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, in her home. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Weaver of Decatur, Dianne Evans of Shubuta, Peggy Sequin of Gulfport, Kathy Evans,and Karen, all of Quitman; a sister, Elafaye Gartman of Meridian; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glyn Ledger Harrell; a daughter, Carolyn Lucas and a sister, Lois Long.

Iva Lee Crenshaw

Mrs. Crenshaw, 87, of Meridian, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church and served on several church boards and committees. She was a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She was a member of Collinsville Homemakers Club, the Lula Moore Garden Club. She will be remembered as a loving, caring mother, God fearing and a supportive spouse, who worked her entire life guiding her family and friends in the direction of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, James Crenshaw of Meridian; sons, James Wayne Crenshaw and his wife, Lynn, Larry Crenshaw and his wife, Brenda, Kyron Crenshaw and his wife, Brenda, all of Meridian and Danny Luke and his wife, Melanie, of Collinsville; a daughter, La Donna Smith and her husband, Ronnie, of Collinsville; grandchildren, Kerry Crenshaw and his wife, Missy, Tammy Ratcliff and her husband, Todd, Dawn Dobbins, Rachelle Black and her husband, Bobby, Richard Crenshaw and his wife, Suzanne, Susan Harwell, Mike Barnett, Heather McNeill and her husband, Frank, Ryan “Smitty” Smith, Jessy Dickson, Matthew Smith; great-grandchildren, Matthew Crenshaw, Dylan McEllhenney, Kayla Smith, Morgan Ratcliff, Brandon Black, Bethany Guire, Tres Dobbins, Eli Crenshaw, Campbell Horne, Isabella Horne, Brandon Crenshaw, Kimberly McMillan, Jake McNeill, Emma Claire McNeill and one great-great-grandchild, Alexander Guire; a sister, Margie Beeman and her husband, Thomas “T.W.”, Fannie Little and her husband, James; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Freeman and Lola Thames; a brother-in-law, Arthur Crenshaw and his wife, Julia and several nieces and nephews.
