Calvary hosts evening of ‘good, Christian fun’

Calvary Christian School will hosts its annual Fall Festival on Friday — and faculty members and volunteers are out in full force getting ready for the evening.
The school is at 3917 Seventh St., behind Calvary Baptist Church.
“We’ll have lots of activities for boys and girls of all ages,” said Perry Miller, headmaster. “We’ll have lots of food for everyone.”
The festival is open to the public. Barbecue plates will be sold for $6; they include baked beans, potato salad, dessert and a drink. Hot dogs and chips will also be available.
Along with many games for the children, there will be a rock wall, inflatable slides, blow-ups and a hay ride through Rose Hill Cemetery and the surrounding area.
T.C. Glover will hold a live auction from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Items up for sale were donated by local business and members of the community — and feature pictures, bikes, massage therapy baskets and a Dell computer monitor. Participating businesses include the Bible Book Store, Stephens Funeral Home, Shalom Massage Therapy, Harry Mayer, Reflections and others.
Volunteer Angela Gamber said the school is looking forward to a big turnout — and is very thankful for the support because the fund-raiser is important to the school.
The headmaster’s final word: “We’re inviting everyone to come out and join us for some good, Christian fun.”
