Graveside services for Jeffrey D. Myrick will be held today at 10 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. William Webb officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Myrick, 44, of Meridian, died Monday, July 24, 2006, in his home. He enjoyed restoring cars with his brother Travis.
Survivors include his wife, Ricki Myrick of Meridian; daughters, Meagan Myrick, Brooks Graham and Courtney George, all of Meridian and Alli M. Young of Mobile,Ala.; nine grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy Myrick and Travis Fuller, both of Meridian; sisters, Harriett Risher of Florence, Ala., Karen Trembaly and Audrey Fuller, both of Meridian; his father-in-law, Robert Guthrie Sr. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Myrick; his mother, Elizabeth Fuller and his step-father, Travis Fuller Sr. and a sister, Sandra Bouder.
Pallbearers will be Steven Smith, Barry McKissack, Travis Fuller, Jimmy Myrick, Mark Ballett and Bob Guthrie Jr.
Robert Clifton Harris

Services for Robert Clifton Harris will be held today at 10 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Tankersley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harris, 72, of Meridian, died Monday, July 24, 2006, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a retired detective sergeant with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. and served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He was part of the “Frozen Chosen” in the Korean War. Before joining the police force he was a member of the U.S. Secret Service where he served for several U.S. Presidents.
Survivors include his daughters, Kristi Buteux and her husband, Ryan, of Toomsuba, Melinda Alpern and her husband, Jay, of Atlanta and Karen Hockman and her husband, Joseph, of Virginia; grandchildren, Tyler Hockman, Jaqueline Hockman, Clancey Alpern, Gage Buteux and Allyssa Buteux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Harris.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Edward Breazeale will be held today at 11 a.m. at Old Mars Hill Church in Winston County with the Revs. Lonoia Burks and Tony Lindley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Breazeale, 90, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Alton E. Evans
Graveside services for Alton E. “Al” Evans will be held today at 1 p.m. at Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Evans, 64, of Toomsuba, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and National Defense Medal.
Survivors include his partner, Dianne Mallard of Toomsuba; daughters, Beth Evans Bright of Ackerman and René Evans Blake of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren and a sister, Katherine Harris of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be today from 11 a.m.-noon at the funeral home.
Dr. Andrew Lamar Thaggard Jr.

CARTHAGE — Services for Dr. Andrew Lamar Thaggard Jr. will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Madden Baptist Church. Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Thaggard, 70, of Madden, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Hospice in His Hands in Madden.
Dr. Thaggard was a native of Leake County and a graduate of Madden High School. He received degrees from Mississippi College and the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Methodist Hospital in Memphis in 1962. He returned to Madden and joined his father at Thaggard Hospital. The Madden Medical Clinic moved to Carthage several years ago.
In 1983, he helped form the Southern Cutting Horse Futurity, serving as president for more than 18 years. He was owner of Thaggard Farms. He was instrumental in bringing the National Cutting Horse Association Eastern National Championship to Jackson. Dr. Thaggard was inducted into the National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame in 1998.
He formed the Compassion Care Clinic after a 2003 mission trip to Mexico. He, along with fellow physicians, medical professionals and volunteers provided free medical services for the uninsured through The Compassion Clinic. In 2006, he was selected as Leake County’s “Man of the Year.” He was a member of Madden Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Harrell Thaggard; daughters, Dr. Sherry Humphrey of Huntsville, Ala., Tammy Puckett of Jackson and Jessie Lavender of Madden; sons, Ricky Thaggard of Madden, Dr. Greg Thaggard and Dr. Stacy Thaggard, both of Meridian, and Charlie Lavender of Madden; a sister, Billie Berryhill of Austin, Texas; brother, Gary Thaggard of Madden; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Harris, 23, of Meridian, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Krista Harris of Meridian; a daughter, Kaitlyn Harris of Meridian; his parents, Ray and Lisa Harris of Desoto; brothers, Ben Harris and his wife, Jennifer, of Carmichael and Matthew Harris of Desoto; his mother-in-law, Jill Davidson of Meridian; maternal grandmother, Christine Riley of Desoto; paternal grandparents, Faye and Danny Allen of Enterprise and Raymond and Angie Harris of Forest; paternal great-grandmother, Ava Fox of Enterprise.
Visitation will be today beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Itaska Hodgins Rea Ruffin will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruffin, 84, of Clinton, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in her home.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Rea and Robert Rea; one sister; three brothers; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home in Clinton and Saturday 7:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
