Dr. and Mrs. Dave Alan Russell of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Hester, to George Clanton Gunn IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Clanton Gunn III of Jackson.

The wedding will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Miss Russell is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Henderson Russell of Oxford and the late Dorothy Parks Paterson of Oxford and the late Dr. James E. Parks of Oxford.

The bride-elect is currently pursuing a master’s of education degree at Mississippi State University. She is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi with a degree in journalism and English, and received a master’s degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Alabama. She is a graduate of Lamar High School.

While attending Ole Miss, she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, and a writer for Y’all magazine, The Daily Mississippian, Ole Miss yearbook and a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Miss Russell is employed by Express Services.

Mr. Gunn is the grandson of Allen Baker Gunn of Columbia and the late George Clanton Gunn Jr. and Bobbye Denton Barnett of Jackson and the late Harold W. Barnett.

The bridegroom-elect attends the University of Alabama School of Law. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama, and a graduate of Jackson Preparatory High School.

While attending the University of Alabama, he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, Order of Omega and Omicron Delta Kappa.

A reception will be held in the home of the bride’s family following the ceremony.
