Malcolm D. Hodges
Retired
Services for Malcolm D. Hodges will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Pine Grove Church in the Martin Community with the Revs. Tommy Espy and his son-in-law, Mark Naylor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hodges, 91, of Martin, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in his home. He was a member and deacon of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He retired after 39 years at Flinkote and Owens Corning.
Survivors include his children, Wylie Hodges of Martin, Glenda Forgan and her husband, Glenn, of Houston, Texas, Rick Hodges and his wife, Nancy, of Highland, N.C., Randy Hodges and his wife, Delaine, and Tammy Naylor and her husband, Mark, all of Martin; grandchildren, Greg Hodges, Mack Hodges, Adam Hodges, Jonathan Hodges, Tori Hodges, Mandy Hodges and Heather Hodges, Nicole Creel, Lenee Ezell, Kyle Naylor and Matt Naylor; great-grandchildren, Brandon Gross, Tabitha Hodges, Tanner Hodges, Lauren Hodges, Patrick Hodges, Nathan Hodges, Montgomery Campbell, Clare Campbell, Regan Creel, Madison Creel, Nicole Ezell and Jonathan Ezell; brothers, James Hodges of Gulfport and Maxwell Hodges of Water Valley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Herrington Hodges and a grandson, Rich Allen; brothers, Franklin Hodges, Cove Lee Hodges Jr., Joe M. Hodges, Luther Hodges, and Billy Ray Hodges and sisters, Arlette Townsend and Mary Ann Hodges Fulton.
Pallbearers will be Greg Hodges, Mack Hodges, Adam Hodges, Jonathan Hodges, Kyle Naylor, Matt Naylor, Nathan Hodges and Patrick Hodges.
Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Church Building Fund in Martin, 11874 Pine Grove Road, Collinsville, MS 39325.
Visitation will be today 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Camyrn Brassfield
Services for Camyrn Brassfield will be held today at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Infant Camyrn, two months, of Meridian, died Monday, April 30, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Margaret Boyd Brannon
YORK, Ala. — Services for Margaret “Peggy” Boyd Brannon will be held today at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Livingston. Burial will be in Myrtlewood Cemetery in Livingston.
Mrs. Brannon, 98, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.
Survivors include her sister, Hattie Mary Holliman and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.
Carl Durward Loper

NEWTON — Services for Carl Durward Loper will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack Kern and Mark Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Mr. Loper, 79, of Decatur, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He retired from the Mississippi Highway Department. He also taught for several years at East Central Community College. He was a member of Clarke/Venable Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a friend to all who knew him and had a passion for building and inventing.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sally Ruth Loper of Decatur; daughters, Gwen Burns and her husband, Bob, of Brandon and Brenda Clearman and her husband, Herman, of Meridian; brother, Gene Loper of Decatur and a sister, Maurice Blackwell of Decatur; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Loper and Vera Loper Mason; a daughter, Felecia Ruth Loper; granddaughter, Kim Adkins and brothers, Clyde Loper and Earl Loper.
Pallbearers will be Carl Adkins, Michael Loper, Wallace Strickland, Kenneth Pettigrew, Phil Frolich and Wayne Loper.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Audie Mae Cook

Graveside services for Audie Mae Cook will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Langford Knight officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cook, 88, of Meridian, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Riley Hospital. She retired from Mississippi Power after more than 31 years. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. After her retirement, she traveled numerous times to Hawaii with her good friend, Jane Dowdy of Sevierville, Tenn. She loved watching the Atlanta Braves baseball.
Survivors include her daughter, Georgia A. Gaillard of Meridian; sons, Donald R. Cook and his wife, Jeanette, of Meridian and James D. Cook and his wife, Vickie, of Quitman; grandchildren, Ron Cook, Sharon Cook, Charles R. Gaillard Jr., David Cook, Amy Moody and Wesley Warren; great-grandchildren, Patricia Anne Hollis, Elisabeth Gaillard, Mary Cathryn Gaillard, Caelyn Marie Gaillard, Andrew Cook, Emily Cook, Caroline Cook and Baleigh Moody and a special friend and neighbor, Ann Shepard.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dan W. Cook; parents, George W. Knight and Callie E. Goodwyn Knight of Whynot; brothers, Curtis, Julian, Bernard and Eugene Knight and a sister, Annie Ruth Butler.
Henry Curry Nelson

MACON — Graveside services for Henry Curry Nelson will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Mashulaville Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Garner officiating. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nelson, 79, of Macon, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Nelson; a daughter, Sarah Beard; sons, Henry Nelson, Michael Nelson and John Nelson; two sisters and two brothers; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Paula Nichols Hutchins
Memorial services for Paula Nichols Hutchins will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Bethel Southern Methodist Church with the Revs. Joseph Hallman, Walter R. Piggot, Wallace R. Terry and Dr. H.J. Hutchins officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hutchins, 65, of the Prismatic Community, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in her home. She was a member of Bethel Southern Methodist Church. She was a former Rainbow Girl. She was a member of Obadiah Community Development Club. She will be remembered as a loving mother and wife and a proud mother of military veterans.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Dr. H. J. Hutchins of Prismatic; children, Melissa “Missy” Hutchins of Prismatic; a son, Paul Howard Hutchins and his wife, Kellie, of Puyallup, Wash. and grandchildren, Kyle Hutchins, Karissa Hutchins and Joshua Hutchins of Puyallup and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Nichols and Rosa Nichols.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at Bethel Southern Methodist Church, 1871 Bethel Church Road, Bailey, MS 39320.
Pallbearers will be Marlan Murphy, Mike Smith, Charles Smith, Billy Branning, Sonny Swearinger and Robert Cochran.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:30 p.m.- 4 p.m. at the church.
Dorothy Goldman Rayner
Services for Dorothy Goldman Rayner will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rayner, 81, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Riley Hospital.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m.- 6 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
