Marion Merrell

Retired



WEBSTER, Texas — A memorial service for Marion Merrell was held Monday, June 4 at 10 a.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster.

Mr. Merrell died Wednesday, May 23, 2007. He was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Rose Hill, Miss. He graduated from Meridian High School , where he had played basketball, was a 1961 graduate from Mississippi State University and then went on to work for more than 30 years as an engineer at NASA, where he continued to work with the Space Program until 2006.

Survivors include his son John Merrell of Baton Rouge, La; daughter and son-in-law Virginia and Monty McDonough of Houston, Texas; granddaughter Natalie Merrell; sister Marilynn Partridge of Mississippi; the mother of his children Rosemary Merrell, as well as numerous relatives friends and loved ones.

Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.



Waudine Storey



PHILADELPHIA — Graveside services for Waudine Storey will be held today at 11 a.m. at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia with the Rev. Dr. Eugene Dobbs officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Storey, 89, of Jackson, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ralph W. Kastla Sr.

Retired aircraft mechanic



Services for Ralph W. Kastla Sr. will be held today at 2 p.m. at Chunky Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kastla, 87, of Chunky, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air National Guard and served in World War II.

Survivors include his son, Ralph “Rusty” Kastla Jr. of Chunky; daughters, Mary Jane Duncan and her husband, Van A. Jr., of Brandon, Margaret Kastla Huff and her husband, Gary, of Atlanta; grandchildren, Alison Duncan Sistrunk and her husband, Hal, Benjamin A. Duncan, Cheslea L. Kastla, Emily E. Kastla, Lucy E. Kastla; and one great-grandchild, Arianna M. Whittliff.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Samuel and Ruth Yankee Kastla; a sister, Thelma Kastla Cunningham and a grandson, Christopher M. Duncan.

Memorials may be made to Chunky Baptist Church, P.O. Box 98, Chunky, MS 39323.

Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present deacons of Chunky Baptist Church.

Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Bobby Mitchell Page will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in the House Community of Neshoba County.

Mr. Page, 47, of Philadelphia, died Monday, June 4, 2007, in Mesa, Ariz.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Retired Brentwood Public Schools employee



Services for Inetta Edwards will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Shubuta. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Edwards, 65, of Massapequa, N.Y., died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at South Nassau Communities Hospital.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the church.



Peggy Claire Zachary Bond



SACHSE, Texas — Services for Peggy Claire Zachary Bond will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Smith and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Sachse Cemetery.

Mrs. Zachary died Wednesday, June 6th, 2007 in Sachse.

Survivors include her husband of more than 34 years, Nolan; children, Betsy, Jim, and Missy; grandchildren Jessica, Jason, Amy, T.J. and Casey and great grandchildren, Rheannon and Ryan.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m- 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ouida McDonald Heitman



Graveside services for Ouida McDonald Heitman were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with her grandson, the Rev. Spencer DeBurgh of Racine, Wis. and her nephew, Dr. William McDonald of Ridgeland officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service was held in Pauls Valley, Okla., at Stufflebean Coffey Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday with the Rev. Spencer DeBurgh and her grandson-in-law, the Rev. Allen Carson of Coweta, Okla., officiating.

Mrs. Heitman, 87, of Pauls Valley, Okla., died Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Pauls Valley. She was a life master contract bridge player, a soloist at many church and community venues including Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lawton, Okla. Before moving to Oklahoma, she and her family lived in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas and Hawaii where her husband served in the U.S. Army.

Mrs. Heitman retired from her job as training specialist at Fort Sill, Okla., in 1984. She was a long time resident of Lawton and lived the last 13 years in Pauls Valley.

Survivors include her daughters, Gail DeBurgh and her husband, Rick, of Granada Hills, Calif. and Joy Keast of Pauls Valley; sisters, Evelyn M. McCartney and Mary M. Evans; a brother Calvin Lamar McDonald Jr. and his wife, Betty, all of Meridian; grandchildren, Kelly North and her husband Michael Damour North, of Augusta, S.C., Spencer DeBurgh and his wife, Amy, of Racine, Wis., Katharine Carson and her husband, Allen, of Coweta, Okla., Wally DeBurgh and his wife, Miranda, of Florence, Ky. and Katy DeBurgh of Sacramento, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of more than 40 years, Major Wallace Heitman.
