Labor law posters unnecessary expense

Many employers receive multiple mailings from companies selling the labor law posters that are required to be posted in the workplace.
These posters sell for $40 to $75 when you include your state’s required posters. These posters are free if you go to the proper Web site, download and print the poster on your own printer.
Some businesses are required to post more than others, depending on the kind of business it is. The Web site will tell you what you need to post.
Our office furnishes the federal posters free to all our clients. If you want a free, 2007 federal color poster, you may pick one up at either office location: 1910 24th Ave. in Meridian or 4000 Eagle Point Corporate Drive in Birmingham, Ala. Sorry, we cannot mail these and because of limited quantities, we can only furnish one per business.
Mississippi requires two posters, which are also available free online. The Mississippi Department of Employment Security furnishes one of the posters free at all of their offices.
To find out which posters you are required to use, go to www.dol.gov/osbp/sbrefa/poster. The Mississippi Web site is www.mdes.ms.gov; just follow the link to Required Job Posters.
