I’ve judged a couple of real beauty pageants before, art contests, chili and gumbo cook-offs, but I never came as close to having an accident during those events as I did Tuesday while helping to judge the Womanless Beauty Pageant at Riley Hospital.

Well, I almost had an accident judging that chili contest in Arkansas because awards were also given for the worst chili and some people actually TRIED to win that honor.

But on Tuesday I just laughed so hard for so long I wasn’t sure what was going to happen.

The hostess for the event was Sidney Covington. She was so cute in her tuxedo and hilarious when she interviewed the contestants.

The contestants were outrageous. We ran a photo in Wednesday’s paper that highlighted the top winners of the pageant, but I think we need to pay tribute to all the fine “ladies” who put their heart and soul into this worthy event that raised $800 for the March of Dimes.
