On Saturday, Oct. 25, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Coots Crossing Covered Pavilion on the upper lake at Bonita Lakes, there will be an event to bring people together and encourage a large voter turnout.

The “Freedom To Vote Gospel Music Fest” is a bipartisan event. Everyone is welcome, regardless of political affiliation. Southern Reign Quartet from Newton, will headline the event and Alex Goldman, as well as other local artists will be featured.

There will be a few local church pastors on hand to pray for our country and to explain the importance of taking part in voting.

Greg Mangum, who is a candidate for Election Commissioner District 5, is organizer of the event. He will face Jeff Tate in the Nov. 4 election. Both candidates are Republicans.

“We want to encourage people all across Lauderdale County to be sure to exercise their privilege to vote regardless of what political party or candidate they choose to vote for,” Mangum said. “We have men and women dying for our country, just so we can have that right. This is simply an event for Christians all across the area to come together and enjoy some great Gospel music while also praying for our country and our upcoming elections.

There is no charge for the event, but a love offering for Southern Reign Quartet will be collected.

For more information call Greg Mangum at (601) 595-1198 or the Rev. Jack Bonner at (601) 938-1355.
