Meridian’s Rex Electronics store will be closing its doors, but another retailer – Appliance Direct – is set to take its place, according to a manager at the local Rex store.



The manager, who wished to remain unnamed, said the store will close “as soon as we can sell everything”. All Rex retail stores will be closing as the company places more focus on its alternative fuel and real estate divisions.



Employees at some Rex stores have been offered jobs with Appliance Direct, but the manager at the local store said that offer has not yet been made in Meridian.
