Armed robbery suspect nabbed in Texas

Marion Police Department Chief Ben Langston was in a jovial mood Tuesday afternoon as he set out for Denton, Texas.
The reason for his good mood was the fact the Denton Police Department had that morning picked up a suspect in the July 16 armed robbery of a convenience store in Marion. It was one of those instances, Langston said, where multiple law enforcement agencies work together and get the alleged bad guy.
“There were four agencies altogether that worked on this one case and it makes it pretty special to get that kind of cooperation,” Langston said.
Langston said in addition to the Marion Police Department, the Meridian Police Department, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department and the Denton Police Department all shared in the arrest.
Being held in a Denton jail was 18-year old Joshua Parker. Langston said on the strength of some very good tips, Denton authorities were able to track down and apprehend Parker at a motel. He will be charged with armed robbery.
Langston said there may be more arrests pending in the case noting there is already another subject being held locally who may have been a part of the crime.
The time of arrival back to Marion with Parker in cuffs will be sometime later today, Langston said.
