Laurel beats Neshoba Central boys in 5A championship

Neshoba Central High School’s potential sweep of Class 5A fell just short, as the Rockets dropped the title game to Laurel High School 85-74 Friday evening.

The loss was the Rockets’ first since a Jan. 27 loss to Vicksburg, and Neshoba Central finished the season with a 25-4 record.

Justus Day finished with 32 points for Neshoba Central. Ed-Rigo Harrington had 13 points, and Chayton York and Bobby Anderson both finished with 11.
