Great Southern Bank announces promotions

Great Southern Bank has announced the promotions of Kristin McDonald to Branch Officer of its Decatur branch and Danielle Freeman to Branch Officer of its Enterprise branch.

A native of Decatur, McDonald graduated from Newton County High School and East Central Community College. She began her banking career in 1999 when she joined Great Southern Bank. Her previous duties of head teller and loan secretary have prepared her for her current role of branch officer where she assists in meeting the credit needs of Decatur and the surrounding areas. She is involved with several committees and groups within the community. Kristin is married to Josh and they have one son, Miles and a daughter, Karmen. They attend Clarke Venable Baptist Church where she assists with Children’s Ministries.

Freeman, a native of Enterprise, graduated from West Lauderdale High School and began her banking career with Great Southern Bank in 2004 as a teller at Meridian’s Main Office. She also served the bank in the roles of loan department clerk and secretary. Danielle and her husband, Brent, have one son, Ryder. They attend Enterprise United Methodist Church.

Great Southern Bank, originally founded in 1902 as Bank of Quitman, holds assets totaling over $290 million and has over 110 employees that operate 12 retail banking locations in Meridian, Decatur, Quitman, Enterprise, Waynesboro and Hattiesburg.
