MPD seeks info on Friday shootings

Meridian Police Department is asking the public to come forward with information pertaining to two shootings that took place on Friday.

Det. Chanetta Stevens, who serves as public information officer for MPD, said the department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Gang Unit are investigating shootings in the parking lot of Camerons Grocery Deli, which is located on 5th Street, and at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers on North Hills Street.

Stevens said the shooting at Camerons Grocery Deli took place around 4 p.m., and the shooting at Raising Cane’s happened around 11 p.m.

Police have identified suspects in both shootings, Stevens said, and are continuing to investigate the incidents. No further information was available as of Monday afternoon.
