Robert and Amber Roberts of Hickory are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexa Gayle, to Jeffrey Tanner Smith, son of Jeff and Emilie Smith of Decatur.

The bride is the granddaughter of Linda Webber of Hickory and the late Alton Wayne Roberts and Johnny Mars of Meridian and the late Esther Dennis.

Alexa is a graduate of Newton County Academy. She is studying business at MSU-Meridian and will graduate in December 2018, with her business systems analyst degree.

Tanner is the grandson of Terry and Nelda McMullan and the late Cleveland and Shelba Jean Smith all of Decatur.

Tanner is a graduate of Newton County Academy. He is the owner of Tanner Smith Distribution and coaches high school boys basketball at NCA.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Beulah Baptist Church, 12954 Hickory-Little Rock Road, Decatur, with the reception immediately to follow at East Central Community College, East Mall, 275 W Broad Street, Decatur.
