The deadline is Saturday for absentee voting in Mississippi’s Second Primary, commonly known as a runoff.

Absentee voting is available in circuit clerk offices from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The clerk’s office, also, will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 23 to accommodate those who are unable to vote during regular office hours.

Voters are choosing between Howard Sherman and David Baria for the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate and between Michael Guest and Whit Hughes for Republican nominee for Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District.

The election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26.

Voters with legally accepted conflicts, such as out-of-state travel, work scheduled during voting hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or planned medical procedures, may cast their absentee ballots in advance.

Registered voters who did not vote in the first primary may vote in the second primary.

Voters who did vote on June 5, must vote in the same party primary on June 26.

Voters should refer to their registration card under “county precinct location” for their correct precinct for 2018. Voters must bring a government issued ID, for example, a driver’s license, state issued ID or passport.

The June 26 primaries are only for the runoffs. Judges races are scheduled in the November general election.
