MCM-Meridian kicks of Week of Wonder with Space Day

The Mississippi Children’s Museum – Meridian will launch its Week of Wonder during spring break with Space Day on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests can blast off into fun with space-themed activities for aspiring astronauts of all ages.

 

Space Day highlights include:

— Bob Swanson, NASA ambassador

— Cosmic photo opportunity with a Jedi, astronaut, Supergirl and Miss Frizzle

— Dance with Gabby Bass at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

— Rocket creations, alien spaceship design, games in the garden and space-themed puppets

 

Week of Wonder runs March 9–13 with daily STEAM-themed activities and instructor-led spring break camps:

— Monday – Science: Wacky Weather with WTOK-TV at 11 a.m.

— Tuesday – Technology: VR headsets with Black Belt STEAM Institute

— Thursday – Art: Jimmie Rodgers Foundation at 11 a.m.; Art Across America with Meridian Museum of Art at 2 p.m.

— Friday – Math: Money, Money, Money with First Mississippi Federal Credit Union

 

Each day focuses on a different STEAM subject: science, technology, engineering, art and math.

 

All activities are included with museum admission. Admission is free for MCM-Meridian members and $10 per person for nonmembers. Tickets are available at the door.
