UMMC clinics closed due to cyber attack

University of Mississippi Medical Center facilities and clinics throughout the state are closed Thursday after a cyber attack interrupted IT services.

Children’s of Mississippi, part of UMMC which operates the Children’s of Mississippi Meridian clinic on 26th Avenue, announced on social media that the attack prevents physicians from accessing patient medical records and other systems.

All outpatient, imaging and ambulatory appointments are cancelled for the day and will be rescheduled while hospitals continue to treat patients who are currently in their care.

“We apologize for this unexpected disruption, and we will provide further updates as information is available,” UMMC said via social media.
