Meridian’s Regency Hospital is slated to close next month, hospital officials said Wednesday.

Shelly Eckenroth, chief communication officer for Select Medical, which operates Regency Hospitals, said the closure is expected to take place around March 13. The closure is an operational business decision, she said.

A 40-bed facility located on the second floor of Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center South, Regency Hospital Meridian is a critical illness recovery hospital. It provides care for patients needing respiratory, neurological, cardiac or other support as they recover from being sick.

Eckenroth said patients will still have access to recovery care through other medical providers in the area.

“Ochsner Specialty Hospital will still be providing this level of care to the Meridian community,” she said.

Patients needing medical records can download a patient access form from the Regency Hospital website, regencyhospital.com/locations-and-tours/ms/meridian/closure, and submit it via email to SMCHealthInformation@selectmedical.com, fax to 717-635-4842 or mail to Select Medical, Health Information, 4714 Gettysburg Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
