UPDATED: Closures planned Tuesday on George Butler, Knox roads for cross-drain replacement

UPDATE: Both roads have been reopened to the public.

Portions of George Butler Road and Knox Road will be closed Tuesday to allow for repairs by Lauderdale County road crews, county officials announced Monday.

In an advisory posted to social media, county officials said the closures will begin at 8 a.m. and are needed as crews work to replace a cross-drain pipe to improve drainage and road safety.

Drivers are asked to take an alternate route while the closures are in place.
