Meridian Little Theatre’s Super Butt Sunday returns for third year

Meridian Little Theatre is bringing back its annual Boston butt sale fundraiser known as Super Butt Sunday as it looks to raise funds for the theater.

After a successful inaugural year in which MLT raised money to fix the theater’s roof, last year’s sales provided the funds to replace the stage floor. Proceeds from this year’s Super Butt Sunday on Feb. 8 will go to help re-pave the parking lot.

Jeanna White, co-chair of this year’s fundraiser, said, “Super Butt Sunday began a new tradition two years ago supporting our ‘Raising the Bar at MLT’ effort—born from a leaky roof and the desperate need to get buckets off the stage. That year our community showed up and showed out. Thanks to the continuing popularity of our Boston butts and that incredible support, the following year’s proceeds allowed us to replace our tapped-out stage floor.”

“Our third annual Super Butt Sunday is off to a fantastic start as we continue reaching for the goal of smooth walking and parking…One butt at a time! MLT invites everyone to enjoy a delicious Boston butt while helping us fund a brand-new parking lot for all our events: weddings, rehearsal dinners, social service club meetings, company parties, holiday celebrations, birthday events, musicals, plays, ballets, youth and teen productions, dinner theatre, and more!”

Boston butts, prepared by Squealer’s BBQ, will be sold for $45 each, or two for $80.

Pre-orders must be placed by Feb. 4. MLT will have a drive-thru set up at the theatre on Super Bowl Sunday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a quick and easy pick-up.
