One dead, one arrested in Thursday shooting

Meridian Police Department is investigating after a shooting Thursday morning left one person dead and a suspect in custody.
Assistant Police Chief Dareall Thompson said officers received a call about a man being shot in the 2900 block of State Boulevard at approximately 10:30 a.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This still is an active investigation, but we do have one person in custody,” he said.
In a news release city officials said 24-year-old Adrian Wallace is charged with murder and has bond set at $1 million.
The incident remains under active investigation, Thompson said, and more information will be released at a later date.
City officials said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.
