Meridianites celebrated the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday with the annual MLK Day parade through downtown. The parade drew dozens of spectators and large participation from churches, sororities and fraternities, businesses, civic organizations, schools and more. The parade is part of a weekend of programming recognizing King and his impact on the nation organized each year by the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Celebration Committee. This year’s festivities represented the 28th year since the committee first began.
