18th Avenue to close Thursday for paving

Meridian drivers will need to plan accordingly after the city announced Wednesday a portion of 18th Avenue will be closed later this week.

The road will be closed from B Street to North Frontage Road both Thursday and Friday as crews with Hemphill Construction work to pave a spot where a new sewer pipe was recently installed.

A detour route along 22nd Avenue will be in place while the closure is in effect.
