Residents are invited to enjoy a fun evening out for a good cause as the Mississippi Council of the Navy League is set to host the 14th annual Wings & Tails event Tuesday, May 6. This event will once again take place at the historic Key Brothers Hangar at Meridian Regional Airport, with social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. and dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Wings & Tails serves as a vital fundraiser, enabling ongoing support for the missions and personnel of the US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, and the US-flagged Merchant Marine — with a special focus on Naval Air Station Meridian and Northeast Lauderdale High School’s NJROTC program.

This year, the event will be hosted by Meridian Regional Airport and generously sponsored by Meridian Coca-Cola, Mitchell Distributing, Ice Plant, and Freddies Fine Spirits. Attendees will enjoy live entertainment by Scott McQuaig and the Tom Cats, along with a delicious spread of catfish, shrimp, chicken wings, potatoes and corn – all included with admission.

Vintage hot rods, alongside airplanes and jets, will be showcased on the tarmac at Key Field, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

“Your Mississippi Council of the Navy League supports the brave men and women of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S. flag Merchant Marine, and we invite you to support us at the 14th annual Wings and Tails event,” says Mississippi Council of the Navy League Board President Joe Mercardo. “This is a fun-filled evening with great food, entertainment, cars and aircraft. Hope to see you there!”
