Local children enjoyed an afternoon of celebration and fun Sunday as Meridian Parks and Recreation held its annual Easter egg hunt at Highland Park. The yearly event drew hundreds of children and families with kids separated by age group to keep the playing field even regardless of age. Colorful plastic eggs were scattered throughout the park filled with candy, vouchers for Easter baskets and even cash prizes. Sunday’s hunt follows Parks and Recreation’s annual Easter egg hunt at Velma Young, which was held Friday.
