Art Collective holds community paint day

Local officials rolled up their sleeves and grabbed paint brushes Saturday morning as the Meridian Museum Art Collective held a community day at its new mural project on 26th Avenue.
Local artists with the collective worked for the past several weeks to sketch out the design on the north side of the 26th Avenue underpass and label sections to correspond to different colors. Residents were invited to select a color and paint in the matching segments.
When complete, the mural will include both the south and north approaches to the underpass, bringing a pop of color to the downtown corridor.
