Drivers heading east on Interstate 20 Monday will want to keep an eye out for detour signs as The Mississippi Department of Transportation plans repair work on the 49th Avenue overpass.

 

In a traffic advisory, MDOT said a temporary closure and detour will be in place nightly from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. beginning March 17 through March 21. Motorists will be directed to use the 49th Avenue entrance and exit ramps to navigate around the construction, the agency said.

 

Traffic on 49th Avenue will also be impacted by the work, with the southbound lanes closed to traffic completely and northbound traffic detoured onto the I-20 east on-ramp.
