MPSD recognizes outstanding educators

The Meridian Public School District proudly recognized its outstanding educators during the Feb. 18, MPSD School Board Meeting held at Meridian High School. The annual recognition highlights teachers who have made significant contributions to student success and academic achievement.

The following teachers were named 2025 Teachers of the Year for their respective campuses:
- Kimberly Runyon – Little Wildcat Academy
- Phyllis Collier – G.W. Carver Elementary
- Fanetta Dancy Crenshaw – Crestwood Elementary
- Cassandra Smith – Parkview Elementary
- Deja Price – Poplar Springs Elementary
- Tesheria Malone – West Hills Elementary
- Rhonda Burrage – Magnolia Middle School
- Amber Bell – Northwest Middle School
- Joshua Reed – Meridian High School
- Marti Pulido – Ross Collins Career and Technical Center
- Lori Gatlin – Marion Park
Among these educators, Marti Pulido of Ross Collins Career and Technical Center was honored as the 2025 Meridian Public School District Teacher of the Year.
In addition to celebrating the teachers, MPSD also recognized G.W. Carver Elementary Principal Amanda Shadwick as the 2025 District Administrator of the Year.
“These educators exemplify the passion and dedication that drive student success in our schools,” said Meridian Public School District Superintendent Amy Carter. “We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the positive impact they have on our students daily.”
MPSD also wants to extend its gratitude to the Meridian Public School District Foundation for Educational Excellence, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of East Mississippi, for its support and recognition, as well as the financial awards it made possible for the district’s School Teachers of the Year, the District Teacher of the Year and the District Administrator of the Year.
