Meridian Public School District announced Wednesday Sherrod Miller has been selected as the new principal of Meridian High School for the 2025-2026 school year after the MPSD Board of Trustees approved the hiring during its monthly school board meeting on Tuesday.
Miller brings a wealth of experience in education, leadership, and community engagement. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success, he is eager to continue building a positive and inclusive school environment where every student can thrive.
Miller is no stranger to MPSD, having served in the district for 17 years of his educational career. Over his career, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and assistant Boys Basketball coach. He is currently the principal of Magnolia Middle School.
“We are excited to see where Mr. Miller and his team take Meridian High School, ” said MPSD Superintendent Amy Carter. “His leadership at Magnolia shows his commitment to academics and creating an environment where all students can thrive.”
As principal, Miller will focus on academic growth, school safety, and strengthening partnerships with families and the community. His leadership will be instrumental in preparing students for college, careers and beyond.
The Meridian Public School District looks forward to the positive impact Miller will have in his new role and invites the community to join in welcoming him to Meridian High School.
Miller will take over for the retiring Angela McQuarley.
