Meridian nonprofit organizations will be able to continue their work helping people in the community after the Meridian First Ladies Civitan Club gave back Tuesday during its annual A Night of Giving.

 

The yearly event sees the club award grants to a variety of organizations and groups, said Civitan Club President Kim Houston.

 

“I have the privilege of serving as president of the Meridian First Ladies Civitan Club and for the last two years, we have hosted ‘A Night of Giving’ where we recognize and sow financial seeds into other nonprofit organizations,” she said.

 

Tuesday’s event saw 15 organizations receive more than $15,000 to put back into helping Meridian and its residents.

 

“Together we all make a difference in our local community,” Houston said.
