One person was injured and one arrested in a shooting Wednesday in Lauderdale County.

In a text message, Sheriff Ward Calhoun said deputies responded to a 911 call about a shooting in the roadway in the 8800 block of West Parkway North at 1:33 p.m. When they arrived, law enforcement learned the victim had been taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle. The alleged shooter had also left the scene, he said.

The alleged shooter, a 17-year-old white male, was located around 2:20 p.m. in a house in the 3700 block of Lake Shore Drive and taken into custody without incident, Calhoun said.

“Investigators are currently investigating the circumstances of this incident, and we will provide an update when it is available,” he said.
